PBMC - cynomolgus

Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) are a subpopulation of leukocytes, which serve as the dominant cells of body’s immunity system that generate selective responses of the immune system against diseases. PBMC are usually isolated from whole blood or of leukoapheresis samples, which consist of a variety of immune cell subtypes, such as monocytes, lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. These cells play specific functions and are widely uses as in vitro cell models for drug development.

PRIMACYT is one of the pioneers in the development of advanced in vitro model systems.

In 2013 PRIMACYT was appointed by the European Commission as an EU Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM) and serves as member of the laboratory network responsible for the method validation.

Our colleagues are professionals and undergo continuous training in the preparation, isolation and cryopreservation of primary cells in general, including related co-products, methods and tools. We are a GLP certified laboratory since 2006.

We have established word-wide network of partner companies, giving us access to whole blood and blood derived products.

We offer PBMC from many different species, including human, Cynomolgus monkey, Göttingen minipig, Beagle and different mouse and rat strains. Immune Cells are isolated from whole blood of normal healthy animals and immediately cryopreserved.

In addition, we also provide researchers with plasma or serum from these and other species including Rainbow trout, Common carp and Atlantic salmon.
