Medium (HHMM)

Our Human Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium (HHMM) helps you in saving time and expenses, accelerating your R&D activities. We offer two different cell culture media types, optimized for long-term maintenance of hepatocellular functions in fresh and cryopreserved hepatocytes. Classic HHMM is serum-free and chemically defined. It can also be ordered as animal component free medium: ACF-HHMM.

To accomplish your needs and for your convenience, media are offered either ready to use with a shelf life of 1 month or, with an increased shelf life, as basal media plus supplements.

PRIMACYT’s hepatocyte maintenance products contain all required growth and epidermal growth factors. Altogether, our long-term media are adapted to allow the maintenance of hepatocellular functions of human hepatocytes for more than four weeks in standard conventional 2D cultures. Our studies show favorable detoxification and albumin synthesis results as well as inducible Cytochrome P450 protein expression and enzymatic activities.

HHMM and ACF-HHMM are available as basal medium (500 ml) plus supplements or as ready to use medium (500/250 ml). The complete kit contains basal media and two supplements that support sustainable long-term culture of functional hepatocytes.

Shipment

Basal and ready to use media are shipped at ambient temperature. Supplements 1 and 2 are shipped on dry ice.

Storage

Basal medium and Ready to use medium are stored at 4-8°C. Supplements 1 and 2 should be stored below -70°C.

Shelf Life

The basal medium has a shelf life of 6 months. After the addition of supplements, the shelf life of the ready to use medium is one month.
