From Schwerin Castle to the eldest monarchy in the world

We are showcasing our products and services at Eurotox 2024 in Copenhagen Denmark. Like Copenhagen, a historic city founded in the 10th century as a small Viking fishing community, the Schwerin Castle, now a World Heritage Site, has a long history, dating back to a fort belonging to the Polabian Slave tribe of the Obotrites on an island in Lake Schwerin in AD 973.

Now back to today’s science: The congress theme “Toxicology – A Quest for safe Chemicals and Medicines” reflects the congress program including a variety of topics dealing with safety of drugs and environmental chemicals, new and emerging technologies, personalised medicine, human health effects caused by exposure to chemicals as well as safety issues arising from climate changes.

PRIMACYT supports Eurotox 2024 in the focus of protecting and restoring the environment. We are presenting our biologicalassay systems for in-vitro-in-vivo correlations studies in fish and other animals. We produce these in vitro systems according to OECD test guideline 319A/B. Validation and quality assurance by PRIMACYT researchers guaranties reliability and reproducibility of the biological systems. In accordance with the 3R principles (replace, reduce, refine), PRIMACYT’s in vitro systems also help to reduce the number of animal experiments in the assessment of bioaccumulation of chemicals.

We also showcase our human ex-vivo full thickness and dermatomed skin tissues and skin discs for applications like

  • Characterisation of topically applied pharmaceuticals (OECD TG 428)
  • Safety assessment of biocides, agrochemicals (EU 528/2012)
  • Safety evaluation of cosmetic ingredients
  • Classification of substance based medical devices (EU 2017/745)

The convention will be held at the Tivoli Congress Centre located in the centre of Copenhagen. Our products will be on display at the exhibition. Meet Dr. A. Ullrich and Dieter Runge at booth 52 at the convention and learn more about the applications of our in vitro systems.
