Fresh Mouse Hepatocytes from PRIMACYT

Primacyt provides primary mouse hepatocytes and non-parenchymal liver cells for 2D and 3D cell cultures. They mimic hepatocellular functions.

Primary hepatocytes are
perfect models for in vitro metabolism and toxicity studies. They are essential before clinical in vivo assessments and for bioaccumulation and clearance studies,

The liver fulfills many vital processes in the body for energy metabolisms, such as glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, lipid, and amino acid metabolisms.

Under physiological and pathophysiological conditions, the liver is responsible for the maintenance of the blood sugar level and the synthesis of plasma proteins, ammonia detoxification (ureagenesis), and drug metabolism.

Parenchymal hepatocytes are the most prominent cells within the liver. Hepatocytes eliminate toxic substances from the blood. As part of this biotransformation process, influx and efflux transporter proteins, together with phase I reactions (cytochrome P450 proteins), and phase II reactions, primarily glucuronidation and sulfation, play a central role.

NPCs play a pivotal role during inflammatory response and fibrosis, interacting with hepatocytes and thereby complementing the liver-specific functions. Non-parenchymal liver cells, NPCs, include Kupffer cells, endothelial cells, and fat-storing cells (also called Ito cells or hepatic stellate cells).

Primacyt fresh Mouse hepatocytes are of highest quality. The level of quality insurance is identical with human hepatocytes. Typically we offer highest viability and functionality levels. In combination with appropriate cell morphology, our cell technology is one instrument for adequate in vitro - in vivo correlations for your purposes.
Characterization methods of fresh animal hepatocytes include the monitoring of liver specific functions, activities of drug transporters and the induction of cytochrome P450 activities. We also monitor and document cell morphology, attachment efficiency, monolayer confluency for platable cells and the overall appearance over time.

Mouse hepatocytes are available in multi-well plates (6-, 12-, 24- and 96-well plate).

  • Plated ProductsPlated products will be sent at ambient temperature on day 1 after isolation and should be stored at 37°C with 95% humidity and 5% CO2 atmosphere. Included with each plated order are following documents: Animal Demographics, datasheet (with microscopic images of cells prior to shipping), manual for culture of primary hepatocytes.

Fresh CD-1 Mouse Hepatocytes Plated

It is recommended to culture mouse hepatocytes on collagen coated culture plates in HHMM (Human Hepatocyte Maintenance Medium), a serum-free culture medium containing Hepatocyte Growth Factor and Epidermal Growth Factor. Culture in MHM (Mouse Hepatocyte Medium will also lead to favorable results.

The products can be made available on request. A set up fee may be applied. Please ask.

Cells in plates require light protected storage at 37 ℃ and 5 % CO2 .
